How to maintain a screw conveyor?

Regular maintenance is essential to extend the service life and ensure stable operation of a screw conveyor.

First, conduct daily inspection. Check for abnormal noise, vibration, oil leakage and material blockage during operation. Clean residual materials inside the trough regularly to avoid material caking, corrosion and equipment jamming.

Second, do lubrication maintenance. Refill and replace lubricating grease for bearings, reducers and drive shafts on schedule. Good lubrication reduces wear, lowers operating temperature and prevents mechanical failure.

Third, inspect wearing parts periodically. Check the screw blade, liner, sealing ring and coupling. Replace severely worn parts in time to avoid deformation, leakage or conveying efficiency decline.

Fourth, keep the motor and electrical system in good condition. Check circuit connection, waterproof performance and motor temperature; keep the electrical box dry and dust-free.

Finally, follow standardized shutdown and storage procedures. Stop feeding first before shutting down the machine, empty internal materials completely, and perform anti-rust treatment if the conveyor will be idle for a long time. Scientific maintenance can reduce breakdown rate and save operation cost.
