A High Temperature Rotary Airlock(also named high-temperature rotary feeder or heat-resistant star unloader)is a heavy-duty rotary valve engineered for continuous,airtight,and controlled discharge of hot bulk solids in high-temperature industrial processes.It maintains pressure isolation between zones while handling materials at extreme temperatures,a critical component for pneumatic conveying,dust collection,and thermal processing systems.

1.Core Structure&Specialized Design

Heavy-Duty Housing:Constructed from heat-resistant cast iron,carbon steel,or stainless steel(310S,309S);features reinforced walls and expanded thermal clearances to prevent heat deformation.

High-Temperature Rotor:6–10 blade rotor made of wear-resistant alloy steel or ceramic(zirconia/alumina);precision-machined with optimized blade-to-housing gaps to accommodate thermal expansion and avoid seizing.

Cooling System(Optional):Water-cooled jacket or shaft cooling circuit for ultra-high temperatures;reduces bearing and seal temperature to ensure continuous operation.

High-Performance Sealing:Graphite packing,ceramic seals,or metal mechanical seals;withstands 250–1200°C and prevents air/gas leakage.

Heat-Resistant Drive:Chain-driven gear motor with high-temperature grease;optional explosion-proof motor for hazardous environments.

Reinforced Bearings:Ceramic(silicon nitride)or high-temperature alloy bearings;resist thermal stress and extend service life.

2.Working Principle

Hot materials(ash,clinker,calcined powder)enter the square/round inlet and fill rotor cavities by gravity.

The motor drives the rotor to rotate;materials are sealed in pockets and transported from inlet to outlet.

Rotor blades maintain airtight pressure isolation(0.2–0.6 bar differential)between upper and lower zones,preventing hot gas leakage.

Cooling system(if equipped)dissipates heat from the rotor and housing,ensuring stable operation at extreme temperatures.

Materials are discharged continuously and quantitatively at the outlet,supporting consistent process flow.

3.Key Features

Extreme Temperature Resistance:Standard for-20°C to 450°C;high-temperature models up to 900–1200°C(customizable).

Superior Airtightness:Maintains pressure differential up to 0.6 bar;prevents hot gas/air leakage in positive/negative pressure systems.

Thermal Expansion Compensation:Optimized clearances and heat-resistant materials eliminate rotor seizing due to thermal expansion.

Wear&Corrosion Resistance:Alloy/ceramic rotor and housing handle abrasive hot materials(fly ash,slag,minerals).

Adjustable Feed Rate:Rotor speed 0.5–8 rpm;capacity 1–50 m³/h for precise metering.

Low Maintenance:Robust structure with heat-resistant components;minimal downtime for high-temperature operations.

4.Typical Applications

Power Plants:Discharge hot fly ash,bottom ash,and flue dust from baghouses/electrostatic precipitators.

Cement&Lime Plants:Handle hot clinker,calcined lime,and kiln dust at 300–800°C.

Metallurgical Industry:Convey hot sinter,ore,and slag in steel/non-ferrous metal processing.

Waste Incineration:Discharge hot ash and residues from incinerators(up to 1000°C).

Chemical Processing:Handle high-temperature powders,catalysts,and calcined materials.
